Home | The U.S. acted neutral
prior to entering World War II, but with the bombing of Pearl Harbor in 1941, the
U.S. was pulled into the war against Germany, Japan, and Italy. The
Americans, who were beginning to come close to finishing a new weapon (the
atomic bomb,) asked Japan to surrender, but the Japanese didn’t take the
chance, even though the U.S. gave them more and more chances to do so later
on in the war.

Quotes "The
atom bomb was no 'great decision.' . . . It was merely another powerful
weapon in the arsenal of righteousness."
